Adventures in Kobold Hall

The Delve into Kobold Hall

The party has cleared the first 2 rooms of kobolds. The first room, while taking over an hour and a half, was not difficult. The second room however, was a different story. While not exceptionally difficult, Ghesh (NUGGET) did manage to get down to 10hp (due in large part to his remarkable ability to find traps… accidentally).

After briefling searching the second room, the party found a bag filled with 60gp on a small altar in the corner. A note was left lying next to the bag, that read the following in Draconic:

“An offering to Tiamat.”

We ended the session with our gimpy group sitting in the north corridor, with a staircase going up…

Lord Warren Requests Assistance

It’s late afternoon. The party finds themselves in front of the Nentir Inn. The dinner crowd is starting to roll in. Lots of chatter and music abound. Waitresses and beer wenches running to and fro, serving the patrons.

Upon entering, the guard inside immediately warns the dragonborn and tiefling that they will be watched CLOSELY, and personal squabbles best not rear their head. Soon after being seated, they are approached by Lord Warden of Fallcrest. He knows Quinn, Soothy and Flint well.

Upon noticing the tiefling and dragonborn additions to the group, he comments: “I see you’ve found yourselves some replacements for your recent losses.” He then goes on to tell them about Kobold Hall, and the trouble that it is causing. Caravan Ambushes, livestock stolen from local farmers, etc. He offers the group 10gp for each dispatched kobold, and an additional 100 gp if they bring proof that the ruins have been cleared out, such as the bone mask worn by the kobold leader.

He also adds that while most believe that this is nothing more than kobolds doing what they do best, Nimozaran the Green believes there is something far more sinister at work here.

Arriving in the Nentir Vale

Our stalwart heroes find themselves in the Nentir Vale, in the city of Fallcrest. Quinn, Soothy Selacious, and Flint have known each other for about a year, taking odd jobs wherever they could. The nature of these jobs run the gamut; anything from clearing out the locals latrines (an activity which Flint in particular seems to enjoy thoroughly), to the occasional clearing of a vermin problem from someone’s cellar.

A few months ago, our intrepid party picked up Ghesh, a Dragonborn skilled in the art of smashing barrels, and Faland, a particularly inept Tiefling rogue, who has an affinity for falling from walls. These two new additions were replacements for two members they had lost in a recent excursion into the local butcher’s basement. He had a cockroach problem that hadgrown out of control. These cockroaches were much tougher than the group had expected.
